La Tabarra del Serrallo grew out of a desire to start our own business and many years of experience in hospitality. Behind our café is a family-run project offering a welcoming place to enjoy breakfast, have a coffee or share a good moment.
Since June 2025, we’ve worked every day to grow our business and make it a meeting place in Tarragona, while always offering a warm, personal welcome.

A life devoted to hospitality
The story behind La Tabarra del Serrallo began long before we opened our doors. Antonio has spent practically his entire career working in the hospitality industry and customer service.
Over the years, they have worked with a range of products and businesses related to cafés, ice cream parlors, coffee, beer and other products commonly found in the industry. This experience has provided first-hand insight into the importance of offering good service and making people feel comfortable when they enter an establishment.
All that professional experience now plays a key part in how we work and look after our visitors.
Our own project in Tarragona
After years of working in hospitality, the opportunity arose to start our own business. Antonio and his wife decided to go into business together and create La Tabarra del Serrallo in an area of Tarragona they already knew through their professional experience.
We want our café to be a simple, welcoming place where you can take a break and enjoy yourself at your own pace. That’s why we offer a range of options for different times of day, from breakfast and coffee to sandwiches, toast, bikini sandwiches, crêpes and waffles.
We also want to gradually expand our menu, adding new options and improving our offering for our customers.
